This data protection information applies to the S Group’s Facebook community pages and Facebook’s messaging services, such as when you like one of the S Group’s Facebook pages, join an S Group Facebook community or become a fan of one, or contact an S Group outlet or brand in a messaging service.
Facebook and the S Group are, where applicable, joint data controllers with regard to the fan/community pages and messaging services on Facebook.
In addition to the SOK Corporation, the S Group consists of different S Group companies, such as cooperatives that can independently manage Facebook services. For each page, you can see the S Group outlet or brand that manages the page (hereinafter “the S Group”) under “additional information” on Facebook.
Facebook processes data in accordance with its data protection principles at www.facebook.com/privacy/. Facebook is primarily responsible for compliance with data protection legislation and for the implementation of data security as well as the rights of data subjects in the service. You can manage Facebook’s data protection settings on Facebook. The S Group is responsible for processing the content of the messages.
Purpose of and justification for personal data processing, data sources and processed data
The S Group only processes personal data obtained through social networking sites and messaging services for the S Group’s own purposes, such as informing customers of new products, services or offers, implementing contests and raffles, receiving feedback, purchasing advertisements on Facebook, measuring the accessibility of websites or advertisements, or customer service on Facebook.
The S Group receives from Facebook the name of a data subject who has registered on Facebook, their public profile image and other information the data subject has defined as publicly visible on Facebook. The data subject may, on their own initiative, also disclose other personal data in comments on community pages or in the messaging service.
On Facebook, personal data is processed based on the S Group’s legitimate interest. The S Group may organise competitions on Facebook, in which case the data will be processed in accordance with a separate data protection statement announced in connection with the competition.
The S Group does not process any Facebook data outside of Facebook or integrate the data into any other registers without the customer’s consent and without informing the customer of this. The S Group may use social media management tools to manage Facebook.
The S Group does not transfer any data outside the EU or the EEA. No automatic profiling or automatic decision-making that would result in legal effects concerning the data subject is performed on the basis of the data in the register.
For personal communication or messages containing personal data (such as name, address or telephone number), customers must use the S Group’s feedback form at https://www.s-kanava.fi/web/s/palautelomake (in Finnish), so that the S Group can verify the confidentiality and information security of the messages.
The data subject has the right to restrict the processing of their personal data by unliking the community page and/or no longer following the page. The data subject may also ask for an outlet or a brand to remove a conversation that took place via the messaging service.
